14 Weeks and I’m FIRED UP!!!
Today, I am officially 14 weeks out.
14 weeks left of diet and a rigorous training system that is intended to get me in the best shape of my life and a body fat percentage that will hover in the 8% range.
14 weeks from now, I’ll be standing on stage in my very first Fitness Competition.
I suspect, you’d guess me to be cranky and on edge.
“The dieting would be dreadful”, you may think…
“The training must be killer’, you’re likely wondering…
But truthfully, none of those assumptions are valid.
The diet really isn’t a massive deviation from what I typically eat, and contrary to popular belief, I’m far from starving.
I eat 6 times a day and feel quite fulfilled with food:
Meal 1 = Protein Shake
Meal 2 = 4 Whole Eggs, Steamed Broccoli
Meal 3 = Protein Shake
Meal 4 = Homemade Turkey Chili with Steamed Cauliflower
Meal 5 = Bison Steak with Steamed Broccoli
Meal 6 = Protein Shake
Now, before you started spitting up your buttered toast and Lucky Charms, you have to hold in context that this isn’t really an atypical day of food for me – competition or not.
I always eat this way. It will get more rigid as the competition draws closer, but I can assure you that Brian’s homemade chili is absolutely fantastic and the spice he puts on the bison stake is out-of-this-world! And with that amount of food, hungry is something Inever get!
My training program is not terribly abnormal for me either. I train 6 times a week:
Day 1 = 20 Strength Circuit/10 Minutes Cardio
Day 2 = 20 Minutes Intervals/10 Minutes Cardio
Day 3 = Day 1
Day 4 = Day 2
Day 5 = Day 1
Day 6 = Day 2
The whole routine takes about 35 – 40 minutes daily, but make no mistake… It is a sincere ass-kicker!!
But this is the price you pay to get the things you want.
It’s not about vanity, feeling sexy or a grasp at youth… This has just always been one of my life goals so I intend to reach it. Period.
I’ve been very careful along the way to evoke my own “3-Step-Process” to getting what you want in life, as well:
#1 – No matter how busy I get with work or how much time my little one’s need occupying, I stay stoic in my perspective and hold to this simple truth – nothing you ever want in life will be convenient or easy.
#2 – Bad days, bad moods and the constant juggle of Mom-hood and entrepreneurial life happen to all of us, but I take responsibility for the achievement of this goal. Nothing and no one will ever be held accountable for my dreams, or my inability to pursue them, but me.
#3 – I know what I want… At least for right now! And this is it!
I will look forward to updating you as I get closer to my event. Watch out for a brand new “Total Mom Make-Over” fitness program I will be releasing very soon……
For now, have a look at the picture above. That’s me at 15 weeks out…. I like where this is heading!
Stay Sexy,
C2

All I have to say is… WOW!!! You go girl!
Now, if this doesn’t inspire anyone to go out and do what they have to to get what they want, then nothing will!
MJ
Ok, so talk me through this… you’re going into fitness… is that the one with the acrobatic/dance/whatever component?
I think I’m way to muscular for figure….
Hey Mel! I am doing the Fitness Model Competition. There is no routine, lol! I am going one step at a time. Check out this link you will find all the “requirements” for the different comps. http://www.canadian-classic.com/. I may do the Figure as well but for now I am keeping tunnel vision on the original plan!
Keep it up Carrie. Looking good. Competition day is just around the corner and believe me (as a 7 time 1st place winner former model search fitness competitor) this will change your life for the better. You will feel so much more complete as a woman and mother after you strut your stuff on stage. You can do anything in life if you put your mind to it – you are a great example of this Carrie. Good luck and can’t wait to see the end result.
You go girl!
Keep us posted.
Love blog posts like this.

Thank you all for the support!! I am enjoying this journey…NOW….have you all figured out what you want to go out and DO!!!! Go GET it!!
Question about the protein shakes. I have a really hard time drinking it if I follow the mix with water guide. Any suggestions on a better tasting way to prepare the shake?
This is dependent on a lot of things (timing of your shakes and the number you have in a day) but a lot of people (I included in the past) have mixed my protein powder with chocolate milk. It is actually great for post workout recovery and tastes delish!! However as I said it depends on when/how many a day you are taking.
